SABRONUM METHODIST SHTS HEADMASTER APPEALS FOR GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO ADDRESS INFRASTRUCTURE DEFICIT

The headmaster of Sabronum Methodist Senior High Technical School, Rev. Peter Nimoh, has made a heartfelt appeal to the government to address the critical infrastructure needs of the institution. Speaking during the Student Representative Council (SRC) week celebration, Rev. Nimoh highlighted several pressing issues that hamper the effective functioning of the school.

Rev. Nimoh emphasized the urgent need for the construction of a teacher's bungalow to provide on-campus accommodation for teachers. "Our teachers are living outside the school premises, making it difficult for proper supervision and control of the students," he noted. He also called for the fencing of the school to enhance security, as well as the establishment of a technical department workshop and a home economics laboratory.

The headmaster further pointed out the lack of an ICT lab, stressing that the school does not have a single computer. Additionally, he highlighted the absence of washroom facilities, the incomplete administration building, and other infrastructural deficits that make learning challenging. "We are appealing to the government and philanthropists to come to our aid and help the school," Rev. Nimoh pleaded.

In response to these concerns, Hon. Francis Manu Adabor, Member of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South East constituency, outlined his ongoing efforts to improve the school's infrastructure. He shared that his initiatives had already secured a school bus and that he is collaborating with relevant ministries to transform Sabronum Methodist SHTS into a boarding facility. "We are making arrangements for infrastructure development in the school because it lacks a lot of basic facilities," Hon. Adabor stated.

He revealed plans to build a dormitory, dedicating GHC 20,000 from his common fund and an additional GHC 40,000 from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for the project. "I am committed to ensuring that Sabronum Methodist SHTS stands firm," he added.

The appeals and efforts underscore the critical need for improved educational infrastructure to enhance the learning environment and overall educational outcomes for students at Sabronum Methodist SHTS.
