National Communication Authority deactivates Over 7.4 million SIM cards

The National Communication Authority (NCA) has deactivated over 7.4 million SIM cards which has not been registered.

The over 7.4 million SIM cards which have not been linked to the owner’s Ghana Card cannot longer be able to receive or make phone calls.

The NCA on Wednesday, May 31, said all users of unregistered SIM cards will no longer be able to receive or make phone calls.

This comes on the back of a directive from the National Communications Authority (NCA).

Such SIM card users will, therefore, have their numbers deactivated and removed according to the directive from the NCA.

The Director General of the NCA, Joseph Anokye, at a press conference held on Wednesday, 26 April 2023, had revealed that 11 million unregistered SIM cards will be deactivated.

Mr Anokye had said: “…If you are part of this 11 million… you are not exempted.

“If you are not a foreign diplomat, you are not a refugee, you will be delinked if you do not register.”

Despite an earlier decision to delete all unregistered SIM cards by Monday, 17 April 2023, it was reversed after consultations.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly exercised its Constitutional right of selecting a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly elected Assembly Members on the 21st of February, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. TEPA HOSTS PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION FOR 105 APPRENTICE DRESSMAKERS

Last Saturday, the Tepa Zone 1 of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) conducted a professional examination for 105 apprentices in Tepa. The apprentices, who have undergone three years of training, sat for the examination to certify and formalize their operations as tailors and dressmakers in the country. Ibrahim Aziz Bright, Chairman of Tepa Zone 1 of GNTDA, emphasized the importance of taking the examination seriously, as it will enable the apprentices to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their profession. He advised the apprentices to listen and obey their masters to avoid difficulties during the examination.
