GHANA NATIONAL TAILORS AND DRESSMAKERS ASSOCIATION GRADUATES 109 APPRENTICES IN AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPALITY
The Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) celebrated a significant milestone in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality of the Ashanti Region as 109 apprentices successfully completed a four-year training programme in entrepreneurship skills. The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of efforts to empower individuals with essential skills and resources for a thriving career in tailoring and dressmaking.
Founded and registered in October 1979, GNTDA has played a pivotal role in unifying tailors and seamstresses across Ghana, with over 400 zonal branches established nationwide, The association's objectives include harnessing skills for effective impact, fostering a national fashion identity, and instilling an appreciation for Ghanaian culture in clothing.
Former GNTDA Chairman in Ahafo Ano North Municipal, Mr. Issifu Ali, Pupolary known as Chairman 1, Speaking to Abrantepa kizaro emphasized the importance of parental support for children engaged in apprenticeship. Chairman 1 urged parents to provide necessary support, acknowledging that masters alone may not afford all the needs of their apprentices. He urged parents to care for apprentices as they would for those attending formal education, emphasizing the value of investing in the future of the skilled workforce.
