Eric Nana Agyeman Prempeh, the Director General of NADMO and President of NALAG, has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the 2024 parliamentary elections in the Ahafo Ano North Constituency of the Ashanti region. The seasoned politician filed his nomination forms on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the newly-constructed constituency office in Tepa.


Fondly known as "ƆKUMKƆM" within political circles, Hon. Agyeman Prempeh, in addressing the constituency executives and party supporters after submitting his nomination forms, expressed his deep appreciation for their unwavering support. He took the opportunity to showcase a myriad of projects in education, health, and water infrastructure, underlining his commitment to the overall development of the constituency.


Notably, Hon. Agyeman Prempeh highlighted a significant achievement during his tenure as District Chief Executive (DCE) – the introduction of tarred roads from Mankranso to Tepa. ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly exercised its Constitutional right of selecting a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly elected Assembly Members on the 21st of February, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. As enshrined in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936), Section 17(4).  Though the Presiding Member should have been elected on the day of the inauguration, it was required by law that the Secretary of the house, announce the voting to be rescheduled since none of the aspirants had 2/3 of the total valid votes cast. Contestants for the position of the Presiding Member were Hon Yamson Ernest and Hon. Joseph Debrah,but hon Yamson Ernest step down from contesting.
