AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL CELEBRATES 39th NATIONAL FARMERS DAY WITH HONORS AND ENCOURAGEMENT



In a jubilant celebration of the 39th National Farmers Day, the Ahafo Ano North Municipal stood out under the theme "Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience." The event, hosted at Manfo, a suburb of the municipality, was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Martina Appiah Nyantakyi.

Hon. Martina Appiah Nyantakyi expressed gratitude to all farmers in the municipality, acknowledging the challenges they face in their demanding profession. She extended appreciation to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for his unwavering support and numerous interventions, notably the 'Planting for Food and Jobs' initiative.

Encouraging farmers to increase their efforts for enhanced food production and export, Hon. Martina congratulated the awardees for their outstanding contributions to agriculture.


Mr. Stephen Kwaku Adzgbli, the Municipal Director of Agriculture, urged farmers to proactively seek support by reaching out to agriculture officers. He emphasized that officers are readily available to assist, encouraging farmers to disregard age disparities and recognize the expertise acquired through training.


Madam Afia Nyamekye, the overall winner of the celebration, shared her excitement and advised those without formal education not to underestimate themselves. She highlighted the opportunities in farming, emphasizing its potential for personal fulfillment and success.

Expressing gratitude to the MCE and agriculture officers for their support, Madam Afia Nyamekye pledged to work diligently to explore more opportunities in agriculture.

The entire celebration reflects a shared commitment to bolstering agriculture, acknowledging the vital role farmers play in ensuring food security and resilience in the Ahafo Ano North Municipal.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly exercised its Constitutional right of selecting a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly elected Assembly Members on the 21st of February, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. As enshrined in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936), Section 17(4).  Though the Presiding Member should have been elected on the day of the inauguration, it was required by law that the Secretary of the house, announce the voting to be rescheduled since none of the aspirants had 2/3 of the total valid votes cast. Contestants for the position of the Presiding Member were Hon Yamson Ernest and Hon. Joseph Debrah,but hon Yamson Ernest step down from contesting. TEPA HOSTS PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION FOR 105 APPRENTICE DRESSMAKERS

Last Saturday, the Tepa Zone 1 of the Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) conducted a professional examination for 105 apprentices in Tepa. The apprentices, who have undergone three years of training, sat for the examination to certify and formalize their operations as tailors and dressmakers in the country. Ibrahim Aziz Bright, Chairman of Tepa Zone 1 of GNTDA, emphasized the importance of taking the examination seriously, as it will enable the apprentices to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their profession. He advised the apprentices to listen and obey their masters to avoid difficulties during the examination.
