INAUGURATION OF THE ANNOR-FELDMAN EARLY EDUCATION CENTER AT DANYAME BASIC SCHOOL


 

Denyame, Ahafo-Ano Municipal, Tepa, Ghana – March 19, 2024 


We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of the Annor-Feldman Early Education Center, a beacon of hope and learning for our community’s youngest minds, located on the grounds of Denyame Basic School. This beautiful two-room facility is dedicated to nurturing and empowering children during their crucial formative years. The building replaces an old makeshift structure made with wawa boards that posed a hazard to the children during the rainy season.A Vision Realized The





Annor-Feldman Early Education Center stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of our esteemed donors, Nana Nkosohene of Denyame Louis Feldman and Nkosohemaa Nana Efua Feldman. Through the able help and coordination by Dr. Kwaku Annor who spent his childhood years at Denyame, a vision for quality education will materialize in these classrooms, where children will thrive, learn, and build a strong foundation for their future.


A Legacy of GivingThis project marks the second collaboration between Dr. Annor, the Feldman family and the Denyame community. Their generosity has been boundless, and we are profoundly grateful for their continued support. Their dedication to education and community development has transformed lives, and the Annor-Feldmand Early Education Center is yet another milestone in their legacy.School materials, toys, clothing, shoes and more…In addition to the gift of the building, the Feldman Family also donated large quantities of toys, clothing, and shoes to the children in KG and Grade 1. All the students got to pick from the boxes of toys that were donated to the school. Instructional materials will be made available at the nearby Annor-Feldman Library Media Center for all students to enjoy and learn.


A Vote of Thanks from a grateful community Nana Kwaku Asamoah, Chief of Denyame and all his elders express their deep appreciation for the wonderful development Nana Nkosohene and Nkosohemaa are bringing to the community. Mr. Anthony Owusu, the headteacher who first thought of an ICT center for school which has since expanded into this new building is to be commended for his leadership and commitment to the school. 


We thank all the dedicated teachers who teach children in this rural community with no electricity for sticking with it and providing the educational foundations for the more than 400 students.Parents We thank all the proud parents who walk some distances to bring their children to school. It is their dedication and commitment to have a future for their children that makes Denyame Basic a school that it is and has been for half a century!

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly exercised its Constitutional right of selecting a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly elected Assembly Members on the 21st of February, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. As enshrined in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936), Section 17(4).  Though the Presiding Member should have been elected on the day of the inauguration, it was required by law that the Secretary of the house, announce the voting to be rescheduled since none of the aspirants had 2/3 of the total valid votes cast. Contestants for the position of the Presiding Member were Hon Yamson Ernest and Hon. Joseph Debrah,but hon Yamson Ernest step down from contesting. The Electoral Commission led by Mrs. Betty Mensah explained to the members that new filings for the position will only be allowed if Hon Debrah couldn't secure 2/3 of the total valid votes cast which is 38 for the second round of election.
