ALUMNI DONATION ENHANCES TEPA SHS, NEW TRUCK RECEIVED WITH GRATITUDE




In a heartwarming ceremony today, the Ahafo Ano North Education Directorate, represented by Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Grace Oppong Agyapong, and Dr Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I, the Omanhene of Tepa Traditional Area, officially accepted a generous donation to Tepa Senior High School. Mr. Akyereko Appiah Johnson, fondly known as "O5" among peers, and an esteemed alumnus, presented a brand-new Hyundai Kia truck to the school.


The occasion, which took place on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, marked a significant moment for Tepa SHS as the truck will serve various essential purposes, supporting school operations and activities. The donation underscores the strong bonds and sense of community within Tepa SHS, highlighting the dedication of former students like Mr. Johnson in giving back to their alma mater.


Mrs. Grace Oppong Agyapong expressed deep appreciation for Mr. Johnson's generosity, emphasizing how this contribution will directly benefit the school's educational endeavors. Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I also commended Mr. Johnson for his meaningful gesture, acknowledging the positive impact it will have on Tepa SHS and its students.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly exercised its Constitutional right of selecting a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly elected Assembly Members on the 21st of February, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. As enshrined in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936), Section 17(4).  Though the Presiding Member should have been elected on the day of the inauguration, it was required by law that the Secretary of the house, announce the voting to be rescheduled since none of the aspirants had 2/3 of the total valid votes cast. Contestants for the position of the Presiding Member were Hon Yamson Ernest and Hon. Joseph Debrah,but hon Yamson Ernest step down from contesting. The Electoral Commission led by Mrs. Betty Mensah explained to the members that new filings for the position will only be allowed if Hon Debrah couldn't secure 2/3 of the total valid votes cast which is 38 for the second round of election.
