WE ARE COMMTTED TO BRING DEVELOPMENT TO GHANAIANS, DCE ASSURES

 





The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South East District Assembly has assured the good people in the district to bring development to their doorsteps. 


He made this statement when he was delivering his sessional address on the first ordinary meeting of the second assembly of the fourth session of the assembly on 30th of April 2024 at the conference room of the District Assembly.


He highlighted the various areas that, through the efforts of the management, have brought a lot of developments. 


Touching on education:

The DCE said education is the bedrock of every district, which is the reason concerted efforts are needed to improve this sector. He said the assembly through management has initiated the following projects to augment other efforts to improve education. 


Construction and furnishing of 1 no. 6-unit classroom block with offices store and library at Abesewa. 

Manufacturing of 350 pcs of mono desk, 600 pcs of dual desk, 50 pcs kg hexagonal tables with 300 pcs chairs for selected schools District wide. Three hundred dual desks are expected to be received in a couple of weeks to come, he added. 


Completion and furnishing of 1 no.3 unit classroom block, office, store, and staff common room at Pokukrom  Ibrahimya Islamic School. 


Construction of a 1 no. 2 unit teachers quarters at Adense Yaw Boadi. 


Construction of twenty-unit stall and ten unit lockable stores at pokukrom. 


On Justice and Security 

The DCE announced to the August House that the Pokukrom Court House was inaugurated on 25th April 2023 at Pokukrom. 

Access to justice has been brought to our doorsteps. We should all make good use of the court in ensuring peace and order in our various communities, he added. 


On Health 

The DCE lamented that one key element to the survival of the District is having a good health care system. Therefore, the Aponoaponso CHP compound had been commissioned and being put into use. Also, the site has been cleared for the construction of the Asempanaye CHP compound. He stated that, in a related development, management together with the assembly member had liased with the Volta River Authority to fix meters to the Fawoman CHP compound. 

He announced to the house that the honourable member of Parliament has also provided two motor bikes for the shift movement of nurses working in the Aponoaponso and Bokuruwa CHP compound. He said the flagship program of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has resulted in the construction of a District Hospital (agenda 111) project. 


In furthering his speech, honourable Owusu Ansah stated that water is life, it is for this reason that management through the District Assembly common fund had constructed ten boreholes in ten communities to exercise restraints since the contractor was in process of fixing the hand pumps to fully operationalize the boreholes to serve the needs of the people. 


Not Living Agriculture Behind 

The stated that the assembly is privileged to be a beneficiary of the Ghana Safety Net Project, which has World Bank as the funding agency. As part of three projects, the assembly has earmarked Ahwerewam, Potrikrom, and Abesewa with fifteen (15) hectares each to plant oil palm and  coconut 

Two roads will be rehabilitated under this project.

Abesewa-Datibi road 5km 

Bonsukrom junction-Adense feeder road 4km 


Talking about Rural Electrification 

He commended the member of Parliament for the immense role that he has played in ensuring that communities that were deprived of electricity in the District had a fair share of the National Cake. Communities that had insufficient lighting at night have light at night these days. 

Management had procured 300 pieces of street light to be distributed to the other communities in the district. 


On Roads 

Honourable Owusu Ansah listed 24km feeder roads, which have been reshaped in the district. 

Amoakokrom to Essienkyem 4.3km 

Amokrom junction to Amokrom and Asuadei to Essienkyem 10km

Amoakokrom to Apenimedi and Bokuruwa junction to Bokuruwa 9.7km. 


Moreover, in terms of governance, the DCE express his heartfelt gratitude to the electoral officer and his team, the security forces for their wonderful efforts during the District level elections which ensured that twenty-one (21) assembly members were duly elected to the assembly in a peaceful atmosphere. 

He said this assembly has been duly inaugurated by honourable professor Gyan Baffour. 


It came as a surprise to see the election of a presiding member after a few attempts. This is a clear sign of commitment of assembly members to progress the District, he added.

SABRONUM METHODIST SHTS HEADMASTER APPEALS FOR GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO ADDRESS INFRASTRUCTURE DEFICIT

The headmaster of Sabronum Methodist Senior High Technical School, Rev. Peter Nimoh, has made a heartfelt appeal to the government to address the critical infrastructure needs of the institution. Speaking during the Student Representative Council (SRC) week celebration, Rev. Nimoh highlighted several pressing issues that hamper the effective functioning of the school. Rev. Nimoh emphasized the urgent need for the construction of a teacher's bungalow to provide on-campus accommodation for teachers. "Our teachers are living outside the school premises, making it difficult for proper supervision and control of the students," he noted. He also called for the fencing of the school to enhance security, as well as the establishment of a technical department workshop and a home economics laboratory.
