OKESS, St. Louis win 2023 Super Zonals; check full table for boys and girls divisions


Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School, affectionately known as ‘OKESS’, and arguably one of the best sports schools in Ghana, has won again the Super Zonal (SU-ZO) in the boys division in the just-ended 2023 Inter-Schools and Colleges Athletics competition of the Ashanti Region at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, May 26, 2023.


The competition began three weeks ago when the various schools competed on a zonal basis called inter-co to earn qualification into the Super Zonal.



The Super Zonal is the final stage of the athletic competition, and this is where the finest schools and athletes from the various zones compete.


It started on Thursday, May 25, 2023, and ended on Friday, May 26, 2023.


The OKESS boys emerged as winners with an impressive 122 points.


In the girls division, St. Louis Senior High School won with 196 points.


This is OKESS’ third trophy in the competition after winning it in 1991 and 1992.


St. Louis, on the other hand, is winning it for the first time, breaking the dominance of the T.I. Amass girls.


Both sschools we’re in Zone 3 and topped their respective divisions.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly exercised its Constitutional right of selecting a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly elected Assembly Members on the 21st of February, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. As enshrined in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936), Section 17(4).  Though the Presiding Member should have been elected on the day of the inauguration, it was required by law that the Secretary of the house, announce the voting to be rescheduled since none of the aspirants had 2/3 of the total valid votes cast.
