HON NELSON DONKOR AND HIS COMMUNITY CELEBRATE WORLD CHOCOLATE DAY AT TEPA KYEKYEWERE

 

The Assemblyman for Kyekyewere electoral area in the Ahafo Ano north municipality and also the chief executive officer (CEO) of Shahamana Farm and Chocolate, Hon Nelson Donkor has today celebrate the world chocolate day with the people of Ahafo Ano north.

Every year, on the 7th of July, people across the globe come together to celebrate World Chocolate Day
On this joyous occasion, chocoholics and confectionery enthusiasts from all corners of the Ahafo Ano north municipality come together to pay tribute to the irresistible charm and heavenly taste of Hon Nelson Donkor's chocolate at Tepa Kyekyewere.

The program was organised by SHAHAMANA FARM AND CHOCOLATE own by Hon Nelson Donkor and partner by AFRICANIWA (Chocolate has a name)

Nana Poku Bosompem represented by Tepamanhene,Dr Dr Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I, Nana Kwadwo Nsiah Tepa Bonkrom Hene, traditional leaders of Tepa Kyekyewere and other dignitaries were present to grace the occasion

 Hon Nelson Donkor said,It is a day to honour the rich history, exquisite craftsmanship, and sheer pleasure that chocolate brings to our lives, allowing us to escape into a world of sweetness and savour every delectable bite.
      Chocolate comes from the seeds of the Theobroma Cacao tree, which has a long history of cultivation. Today, Africa leads in cocoa tree production and hafo Ano north is a cocoa growing area so he has to take advantage to open a chocolate factory here to help the good people of Ahafo Ano north municipal and the entire country as a whole.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR AHAFO ANO NORTH MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY

The Ahafo Ano North Municipal Assembly exercised its Constitutional right of selecting a Presiding Member (PM) for the newly elected Assembly Members on the 21st of February, 2024 at the Municipal Assembly Hall. As enshrined in the Local Governance Act, 2016 (ACT 936), Section 17(4).  Though the Presiding Member should have been elected on the day of the inauguration, it was required by law that the Secretary of the house, announce the voting to be rescheduled since none of the aspirants had 2/3 of the total valid votes cast. Contestants for the position of the Presiding Member were Hon Yamson Ernest and Hon. Joseph Debrah,but hon Yamson Ernest step down from contesting.
